HII - MDIS is currently seeking a Training Systems Engineer to work Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH . The successful candidate will provide systems engineering support and analytical expertise in areas related to the planning, designing, development, and testing of all types of Air Force training systems.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Work within an Integrated Product Team environment to apply knowledge and experience in acquisition technical management policies and procedures to training systems procurement and sustainment activities including pre- and post-award project engineering management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles.
Apply knowledge and expertise to the development and sustainment of aircrew/operator and maintenance training devices for the Air Force.
Work with using commands and weapon system program offices to define, specify, document, track, and verify training system requirements for new capabilities and updates.
Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action.
Plan and chair systems engineering reviews to approve requirements, designs, baselines, and test readiness.
Technically direct contractor conducted engineering reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, and design and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved.
Perform reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, system engineering programs, design and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with the contract.
Establish risk management processes and identify, track, manage, and mitigate program risk.
Review and comment RFP documentation regarding product support elements including Performance Work Statements, System Requirements Documents, and Contract Data Requirements Lists.
Advise on proposal evaluations both in support of source selections and Engineering/Contract Change Proposals (ECPs/CCPs).
Support the test program including review of test plans and procedures for technical accuracy and support training device tests.
Qualifications and Experience :
A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant field.
Six (6) years of systems engineering experience with at least three (3) years’ experience working in AFLCMC aircraft, simulator, or major subsystem program offices.
Application of information systems security principles, concepts, and methods for operational Air Force or DoD information systems.
Understanding of Risk Management Framework and cybersecurity requirements within the DoD.
Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Certification
Experience in simulator development, production, and sustainment
Knowledge of simulator interoperability concepts and implementations, and specifically the Air Force Distributed Mission Operations program.
Knowledge of aircraft weapon system simulations including avionics, operational flight programs, aircraft subsystems, and sensors.
Knowledge of flight simulator environment representations including out the window visual simulation and associated databases, threat simulations, electronic warfare environment, and associated databases.
The ability to attain and maintain an Secret level clearance.
