Huntington Ingalls Industries - Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
HII-MIS is currently seeking Senior Applications Programmers to work out of Wilkes Barre, PA (or one of various other HII offices) in support of a multi-year contract with the United States Postal Service (USPS).
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Under general direction, devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.
Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents those programs.
Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications programming activities. Note: This position does not perform systems analysis functions.
Analyzes functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
Develops block diagrams and logic flow charts.
Translates detailed design into computer software.
Tests, debugs and refines the computer software to produce the required product.
Prepares required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.
Enhances software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency.
Provides technical direction to lower level programmers to ensure program deadlines are met.
Qualifications and Experience :
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with strong knowledge of one or more of the following qualifications:
Working knowledge of one of more of the following qualifications:
Knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies
Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices
Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc)
Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
Must be able to obtain and keep a USPS Sensitive Clearance
- A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a Green Card and have been living in the U.S. for at least the last five years.
Must not have traveled outside of the United States for more than 180 days in the last five years.
