HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
HII - MDIS is currently seeking a Cyber Operational Training (OT) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support Headquarters Air Force (HAF)/A3T to work out of their client’s office in Washington, DC. The mission of HAF/A3T is to provide strategic guidance, policy development, program/resource advocacy, management and expertise for Operational Training & Readiness. Efforts supporting A3T objectives including: the AF Operational Training Infrastructure (OTI) Flight Plan Lines of Effort (LOEs); AF Modeling and Simulation policy on behalf of A3, and A3’s role as the Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) Foundations lead. In addition, activities assist capability associated with cybersecurity oversight and recommendations for approvals to operate/connect for OTI systems on behalf of AF/A3T and SAF/CIO A6.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Assess OTI policy and strategy shortfalls and lead in the development and prioritization of solutions.
Evaluate and assess the interoperability of cyber OTI with space and air components to sustain combat ready forces in support of Combatant Commands ability to execute military operations.
Using and applying cyber operations expertise, performs a broad range operational planning and technical analysis of OTI, utilizing intelligence derived products often at classifications TS/SCI or above.
Coordinates with MAJCOMs to review range shortfalls and impacts to readiness to include foreign military, and other security assistance cases, involving major systems or requiring special management consideration of range-related issues.
Works with MAJCOMs and Subject Matter Experts to plan, program and advocate for Threat Representative training environments to include; threat capabilities, threat generators, specific virtual or live ‘terrain’.
Reviews and coordinates Offensive and Defensive training policy, strategy, and planning at multiple classification levels up to TS/SCI on behalf of Air Force leadership.
Analyzes major AF OTI programs to support planning, programming, and budgeting process and facilitates the development of Cyber OTI policy and guidance.
Develops Cyber OTI policy/guidance for Air Staff, MAJCOMs and subordinate organizations throughout the Air Force.
Develops detailed studies related to goals, objectives and plans for the long-range implementation and administration of Cyberspace OTI capabilities including synthetic to live, multi-domain integration.
Evaluates impacts of technologies to improve operations, weapons systems, training and strategy.
Prepares reports, responses to queries, justification, briefs and background papers.
Hosts meetings with MAJCOM representatives to discuss/resolve operational and planning concepts.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field (Highly desired)
Active TS/SCI required for consideration
AF rated cyber operations experience (Highly desired)
Excellent Writing Skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to develop briefing materials, administrative, and logistics support
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook)
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
Security +, Network +, or Certified Ethical Hacker certification.
