HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
HII - MDIS is currently seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to work at McGhee Tyson ANGB, TN for the National Guard Bureau (NGB) KC-135 Boom Operator Simulation System (BOSS) program.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Ensure KC-135 BOSS site implementation meets security requirements.
Perform Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 duties to include:
In coordination with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM), initiate protective or corrective measures when a cybersecurity incident or vulnerability is discovered.
Ensure cybersecurity and cybersecurity-enabled software, hardware, and firmware comply with appropriate security configuration guidelines.
Ensure DoD information system recovery processes are monitored and Information Assurance (IA) features and procedures are properly restored.
Ensure all DoD information system cybersecurity-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals.
Implement and enforce all DoD information system cybersecurity policies and procedures, as defined by its security certification and accreditation documentation.
Record Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) entries into Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS) system.
Record Authorizing Official (AO) Risk Acceptance (RA) entries into Continuous Monitoring and Risk Scoring (CMRS) system.
Update findings to proper status (e.g., Fixed, Open, Not a Finding) within CMRS.
Assist the NGB ISSM with the following duties:
Provide the ISSM with situational awareness of updates to CMRS.
Develop and maintain an organization or DoD information system-level cybersecurity program that identifies architecture, cybersecurity requirements, objectives and policies, cybersecurity personnel, and processes and procedures.
Ensure information ownership responsibilities are established for each DoD information system to include accountability, access approvals, and special handling requirements.
Ensure the development and maintenance of cybersecurity certification documentation according to DoDI 8510.01 by reviewing and endorsing such documentation, and recommending action to the AO.
Maintain a cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization documentation and modifications repository.
Ensure compliance monitoring occurs, and review the results of such monitoring.
Ensure cybersecurity inspections, tests, and reviews are coordinated.
Ensure all cybersecurity management review items are tracked and reported.
Ensure incidents are reported to the AO and the DoD reporting chain and responses to cybersecurity-related alerts are coordinated.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
Previously served as an ISSO
Ability to apply the following: business security practices and procedures; availability of current security tools; implementation of hardware/software security; different communication protocols; encryption techniques/tools; familiarity with commercial products and current lab infrastructure technology; and DoD policies, procedures, and regulations
Possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification
Possess either of the following certifications: Security+ CE or CompTIA Security+
Ability to travel to attend meetings and interface with government and support contractor elements
