HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

HII - MDIS is currently seeking a Hardware Systems Engineer to work at McGhee Tyson ANGB, TN for the National Guard Bureau (NGB) KC-135 Boom Operator Simulation System (BOSS) program.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):

  • Provide Level 2 maintenance at Training System Support Center (TSSC) location. These advanced maintenance tasks often require special tools and advanced technical knowledge and/or skills.

  • Monitor existing systems to ensure structural integrity.

  • Provide On-Call Level 2 maintenance support on-site at each Air National Guard (ANG) unit when the on-site capabilities are insufficient to correct a malfunction or other maintenance issues that affect training system use.

  • Maintain hardware component warranty data and projected obsolescence data, and plan for periodic component refresh.

  • Maintain drawings, part numbers, vendor data, software licenses, and stock numbers of all training device components.

  • Conduct Spares Inventory Management by maintaining an inventory status, and maintaining adequate levels of spares located at each site and the centralized spares inventory.

  • Forecast spares requirements for the next fiscal year to ensure sufficient funding.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required-

  • Bachelor’s degree in system engineering or related discipline and 3+ years’ experience in system engineering and IT support

  • Possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification

  • Possess either of the following certifications: Security+ CE

  • Ability to travel to attend meetings and interface with government and support contractor elements

Security:

  • All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.

  • The candidate must currently possess and be able to maintain a Secret security clearance.
