HII-MDIS is currently seeking a Cybersecurity & Security Engineer to perform the assessment and defining of system security requirements, analysis of current and future architecture to ensure compliance of current and future standards and policies, ensure current and future design include SE considerations, and that Cyber/SE measures and design characteristics are correctly implemented for various U.S. Navy training systems. The Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT) and the follow on Advanced Training Domain (ATD) are the US Navy Combat System Training tools installed with multiple variants on over 120 ships and multiple shore facilities.
The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Research and apply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS)
Perform traceability among system requirements documents, identify gaps, and provide recommendations to resolve deficiencies
Develop RMF and A&A Artifacts
Analyze current and proposed network engineering solutions to identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities
Perform research and document logical and physical solutions that prevent, detect and correct the system to be certified and accredited
Assist Security Engineering Lead with documentation of Software Trouble Reports (STRs) and Engineering Change Problem (ECP), metrics and presentation slides
Document/Evaluate Cross Domain Interfaces
Perform risk assessments
Qualifications and Experience:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Cyber Security, or similar technical degree.
Two (2) years of experience submitting Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages.
Two (2) years of experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear, concise, and technically accurate manner.
Minimum IAT Level II CE/NE
In-depth understanding and experience in Risk Management Framework (RMF), DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), Platform IT (PIT), and the implementation of Cyber Security and IA boundary defense techniques and various IA-enabled appliances (firewalls, IDS, IPS, switches/routers, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and Host Based Security Systems (HBSS))
Experience translating cybersecurity governance and guidance into detailed system requirements
Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, writing, and interpersonal skills
Innovative problem solving skills
Capacity to prioritize tasks through self-directed time management and organization
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
