Huntington Ingalls Industries - Mission Driven Innovative Solutions (HII-MDIS) is seeking a transitioned Sonar Technician (ST) and/or Navy Trainer Specialist (NEC 9502 / 805A) having recently served on LCS or with operational Surface fleet experience and qualifications in Mine Counter-Measure (MCM) Operations, Combat System Training Team (CSTT) and Mine Warfare Evaluator (MIWE).
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Coordinates the development and delivery of complex training programs and related materials in support of customer training objectives. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Develops; organizes; and conducts Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Mine Warfare (MIW) and educational programs for Operators assigned to Littoral Combat Ships. Must be capable of conducting conventional knowledge-based classroom teaching and performance-based laboratory training.
Must be prepared to support the Train to Qualify (T2Q) and Train to Certify (T2C) process utilizing shore-based trainer requiring dynamic assessment of watch-standers during integrated scenarios.
Develops; tests; maintains; and delivers moderately complex Navy MIW training programs and related materials in support of CSCS training objectives.
Establishes and reviews course content and objectives.
Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
Maintains records of training activities; participant progress; and program effectiveness.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
LCS MCM Crew Certification Training, MCM Capstone Training (including MIW Evaluator and remote vehicle operations), MCM Mission Bay Skills, and LCS Mission Package Common Skills.
Secondary instruction in LCS-1 Capstone Training and LCS-1 Crew Certification Training.
Candidate will be required to support a second shift work schedule on a rotational basis.
Qualifications and Experience:
Five (5) years of experience with the required system as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment. Of the five years, one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.
Experience as trainer/instructor in support of CSCS/MWTC is a significant plus. Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing. Travel may be required up to 10 % of time.
Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
