HII - MDIS is currently seeking a Senior Program Manager/Systems Engineer to coordinate research activities in the Information Directorate at the Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, NY.
This position will directly support the Air Force Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) initiative. The SCARS initiative is meant to apply current and emerging cloud processing technologies to simulation devices to enhance capabilities, improve life cycle support, and improve the cybersecurity posture of the Air Force training enterprise.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Provide all SCARS Team Lead activities including interfacing with the customer(s), project planning, allocating tasks to team personnel, and coordinating activities within the development environment.
Manage development of a SCARS testbed capability within AFRL and produce assessments and recommendations of suitable technologies for incorporation into the testbed.
Assist with simulator reference architecture requirements definition and documentation
Interface between 711HPW/RHA and AFLCMC/WNS Simulator Program Offices, AFRL/RIE, RHA and RIE contractors, and other organizations as required.
Manage Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) projects addressing SCARS topics.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, or a related field with 10 years of relevant work experience; or 15 years of relevant work experience
Outstanding organizational, planning, and prioritization skills along with an ability to adapt to evolving concepts.
Comprehensive and in-depth understanding and knowledge of DoD Intelligence requirements, technology needs, ISR, cross-domain technology application, open architecture and service oriented architecture.
Demonstrable written and spoken communication skills - ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications, and articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
Experience working with, managing, and mentoring a technical team from entry level to senior developers.
Ability and willingness to travel.
Experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools including DevOps
PMP or DAWIA certifications
All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.
Must possess and maintain a Secret level clearance.
Ability to attain and maintain TS level clearance.
