HII- Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) is currently seeking aTraining & Exercise Planner/Action Officer to support our customer.
HII-MDIS has an immediate outstanding opportunity for aTraining & Exercise Planner/Action Officer to provide direct support to ensure the successful delivery of Division and Corps level exercises developing and managing threat scenarios, evaluations, injects and validations to drive staff targeting of injects to drive the battle staff targeting of threat networks and improvised threats. Support is conducted under the direction and guidance of the DTRA, O&I, Fort Leavenworth Integrator and may include support at all levels and at every stage of the exercise development from pre-planning meetings to execution and after action reports. Support may include creating or refining exercise concepts and supporting plans, developing training objectives, support to planning conferences, creation of guidance for exercise control personnel, scenario outlines, operational MSEL documents and intelligence products for vetting and use in the exercise. Responsibilities also include preparing storylines and themes consistent with the overall exercise scenario and training objectives.
This position is based out of Northern, VA and will require significant travel

Work with MCTP OPS Group D (Division, Corps, and ASCCs) and J (SOFCI3 and SOF HQ) to develop and manage threat based networks, improvised threats (IED, sUAS and emergent threats), scenarios and injects in support of exercises
To support large scale military exercises.
Develop exercise threat scenarios, evaluations and injects.
Support exercise planning evolutions including pre-planning meetings, mid-planning events and actual exercise execution.
Create and refine concepts, conduct research in order to incorporate latest TTPs to exercises.
Create and refine exercise concepts and supporting plans.
Develop training objectives relevant to assigned exercises.
Create guidance for exercise control personnel.
Create scenario outlines and Master Scenario Event Lists (MSELs).
Create intelligence products for vetting and use in the exercise.
Support all levels of exercise planning and execution.
Other duties as assigned, including Action officer/Staff officer responsibilities.
To qualify as junior/journeyman, must have bachelor's degree and 5+ years' experience; to qualify as senior, must have master's degree and 10+ years' experience.
A minimum of 7 or more years in the US military as an officer or NCO in charge of planning operations, exercise design with a minimum of 2 years developing MSEL storylines related to intelligence products.
Minimum five years experience in ONE of the following disciplines: 1) C-IED, EOD, WTI, CREW, Combat Engineering 2) Combat Arms with GWOT deployment experience 3) Instructor/trainer 4) Asymmetric Warfare Analysis.
Must have tactical and operational staff experience (preferably S/G-2 (Intel) and/or S/G-3 (Operations)) at the Division, Corps and ASCC level.
Working knowledge and use of threat network building tools such as Analyst Notebook.
Working knowledge and demonstrated experience using Interactive On-Net (ION).
Demonstrated experience as a white cell or trusted agent exercise planner writing scenarios and injects for the execution of exercises at Corps level and higher.
Thorough knowledge of Counter-threat network operations.
Ability to analyze CCMD plans and processes to assess C-IED or other improvised threat capabilities against published standards; including, but not limited to: Universal Joint Task List, Doctrine, Command Directives, Validated Lessons Learned.
Ability to translate exercise training audience objectives and Mission Essential Tasks into realistic exercise scenarios that test processes and ensure mutual understanding and success of Combat Support Mission.
Experience developing exercise scenario injects.
Must be able to work with little to no direct supervision.
Excellent writing and desktop publishing skills in MS Office Suite.
A current US Passport is mandatory to be considered and maintain employment.
10-14 Years with Bachelors or 8-12 Years with Masters or HS diploma + 14-18 years of relevant experience.
Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
