HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

HII-MDIS is currently seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to work out of their Phoenix, AZlocation supporting the Administrative Office of the US Courts.

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot desktop/hardware/software issues via a help desk ticketing system

  • Research issues

  • Provide technical support

  • Configure, install, administer, monitor, upgrade, patch and troubleshooting application and systems

  • Provide performance testing

  • Other projects as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications and Experience:

Required –

  • High school and a minimum of six (6) years’ of IT experience

  • Background should include:

  • Demonstrated Linux Systems Administration Skills (RedHat)

  • Database Administration skills (MySQL preferred.)

  • Application installation, support, testing, and troubleshooting skills

  • Network Administration (Cisco Firewalls preferred)

  • Scripting Skills (Python, Bash, PHP)

  • Backup and Restore Experience (desired: NetBackup)

  • Problem solver with troubleshooting, decision making and analytical skills

  • Able to work and interact with others in a structured / team environment

  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle competing work demands

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate to nontechnical audience on technical issues

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate on a technical level to a technical audience

  • Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call

  • Ability to do limited travel (0-4 times a year)

Preferred –

  • System Monitoring experience (preferred: Zabbix Application)

  • Hardware Support Skills (HP DL380, G6, HP DL380 G7)

  • Virtualization support (VMware)
