HII – MDIS is currently seeking a Security Specialist to support our customer.

The Security Specialist executes on-site security /COMSEC procedures. Perform security patrols of assigned zones, monitor DoS website for travel advisories/safety considerations, perform risk assessments, and complete daily security and incident reports. Support the investigation of security related accidents/incidents, hazardous situations/other facility related events.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Detect, analyze and alert others regarding any adverse conditions that may affect operations and the supporting staff. These conditions may range from political instability, crime, terror, to regional challenges.

  • Enforce security policy and procedures.

  • Investigate all facility and off-site related incidents.

  • Liaise with local authorities for off-site incidents that may or may not be time sensitive.

  • Ensure that all personnel associated with Program are provided with a safe and professional working environment.

  • Insure patrols of assigned zones (by foot or patrol vehicles) are properly conducted and completed.

  • Investigate security related accidents/incidents, hazardous situations/other facility related events, and provide detailed information (as required) to the Deployed Site Lead.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all Program personnel have properly issued identification.

  • Monitor DoS website for travel advisories/safety considerations

  • Conduct in-depth risk analysis and mitigation considerations for local and potential areas of operation(s) for the Program.

  • Complete and compile daily security and incident reports.

  • Manage the Security Inspection Program to include planning, design, coordination, and evaluation of security policies and Programs.

  • Conduct operational security inspections and surveys.

  • Develop and implement procedures, control systems and methods to accomplish security mission goals with regards to daily work routine, movement to other operational areas within the EUCOM AOR, emergency situations or other scenarios having significant resource implications.

  • Organize and implement Program Security Education Program.

  • May be required to conduct antiterrorism and terrorism counteraction training, briefings and security lectures and other security topics.

  • Provide planning and operational employment of SOPs for community events that Program personnel and equipment are participants. For example:

  • Crowd Control (barriers, guard force)

  • Assisting Fire Department/EMS in and out of area

  • Maintain control at traffic accidents

  • Other duties may be assigned, as necessary


Required -

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Have Experience with security systems, including alarm monitoring, electronic access control, and CCTV

  • Have proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point).

  • Have excellent time management, verbal and written communication, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Possess the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management

  • Possess demonstrated experience in the areas of people and conflict management with tact and discretion.

  • Be flexible and possess the ability to function in stressful situations.

  • Be a dependable team player with business maturity and enthusiasm.

  • Must be willing to travel

  • 6 Years relevant experience with Bachelors; 4 Years relevant experience with Masters; An additional 4 years of specific job experience with a HS diploma may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement for this job.

  • Clearance: Must possess a current Top Secret/SCI Clearance

Preferred -

  • Must have Bachelor Degree with 3-10 years of experience working inMilitary, Law Enforcement, Government, or Corporate Security.
