HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
HII – MDIS is currently seeking a Data Manager to work at the Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) office in Orlando Florida.
AFAMS is responsible for managing and implementing the Air Force Operational Training Infrastructure (OTI) Flight Plan Data Management Objective. AFAMS is tasked with coordinating and obtaining data or models from authoritative sources to ensure interoperability across Modeling and Simulation programs that include terrain, weather, airfields, and red threat data.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Help AFAMS manage and implement the Management Objective that determines the systems to optimize and migrate to meet needs in accordance with AF OTI Flight Plan, Annex F.
Assist AFAMS with establishing procedures for sharing data from and with a variety of stakeholders that ensures availability of resources and satisfies cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
Establish tools and procedures for creating reports and extracting data.
Evaluate data systems to analyze and enhance performance.
Assist AFAMS to determine whether further integration/development of Program of Record (PoR) is fiscally feasible based on authoritative data and models.
Assist AFAMS in aligning the OTI DM Strategy Plans and Process with the AF and other CDO DM Strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Modeling & Simulation, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar.
Demonstrated experience working with customary approaches, techniques, and requirements when performing management and vetting activities.
Demonstrated experience working with M&S data and systems.
Familiarity with cloud architecture, fog computing, and microservices.
Able and willing to travel up to 30% of the time.
Knowledge of the USAF structure.
Masters degree in Modeling and Simulation, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar.
Familiarity with standard interoperability protocols (i.e. DDS, DIS, HLA).
Familiarity with M&S data models, ontologies, and taxonomies.
AGILE or Scrum experience
