HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
HII - MDIS is currently seeking a Light Attack Aircraft (LAA) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to work at their Orlando, FL office (or possibly telecommute.)
The LAA SME will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that conducts a LAA Training System Requirements Analysis (TSRA) as defined and governed by Air Force Instruction (AFI) 36-2251, Management of Air Force Training Systems. The TSRA with be conducted on Initial Qualification Training (IQT) for LAA Aircrew.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop the following: Mission Task Analysis Report (MTAR), Training Requirements Analysis Report (TRAR), Objectives Media Analysis Report (OMAR), and the Training System Basis Analysis Report (TSBAR).
Provide the team with LAA aircrew subject matter expertise to accomplish all tasks.
Identify, analyze, and establish training requirements for all LAA aircrew tasks.
Produce a Training Task List (TTL).
Perform a gap analysis of entry/exit aircrew Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attitudes (KSAA).
Conduct/participate in SME workshops for data collection purposes.
Analyze existing and similar training systems; identify training system strengths, deficiencies, and constraints; and provide recommendations for the proposed training concept.
Work with the team to develop four reports containing analysis findings and recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree in aviation/aeronautical science, or other related field
Current or formerly qualified (within 1 year) US military LAA Instructor Pilot (IP) or previous military LAA IP with current or previous FAA CFI rating (within 1 year) with 3+ years as an IP in US military
Previous (within 1 year) USAF tactical aircraft (“air to ground”) IP or Instructor Weapon Systems Officer (WSO) and graduate of formal instructor upgrade flight training (e.g., AETC FIUT, PIT, ACC Formal IP/Instructor WSO Upgrade or Weapons School with 3+ years Instructor experience).
Deployed LAA or tactical aircraft (“air to ground”) experience required.
1000 hours total LAA or tactical aircraft time, 500 hours of air to ground attack experience or 1,000 hours fighter/fighter trainer MDS.
Master’s Degree in aviation/aeronautical science, or other related field
Knowledgeable of USAF 11 and 36 series instructions and working understanding of flight training operations.
Deployed LAA experience.
Qualified USAF LAA IP (current within last 6 months), 6 years as an IP in US military
2000 hours total flight time, 1000 hours of air to ground attack experience.
All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain Secret level clearance.
