HII - MDIS is currently seeking a Quality / Health & Safety Manager to work out of their Oak Ridge, TN office.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Primarily responsible for administering, maintaining, and monitoring/auditing all aspects of a Quality Management System (QMS) for a conformance testing laboratory that is accredited to ISO-17025.
Conduct QMS training and administer periodic proficiency testing.
Conduct annual health & safety training of staff.
Assist with updating quality procedures, quality manual, test plans, biosafety plan, chemical hygiene plan, incident response plan, and technical procedures as well as writing product stability or test reports.
Review conformance test reports and assist with inventory management, calibrations, regulatory compliance, waste management, and some laboratory testing of assays.
This position reports directly to the Laboratory Director.
Employee may handle typical laboratory chemicals and inactivated biological materials.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception.
Physical demands of this position may require the employee to lift up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications and Experience:
A bachelor’s of science degree and a minimum of six (6) years of experience working within an accredited ISO-17025 QMS are required.Familiarity with ISO-17025 QMS principles such as root cause analysis, continual improvement, corrective action, validation of methods, traceability, etc.
Applicant must be experienced writing, reviewing, implementing, and updating technical procedures and test plans for a testing laboratory.
Basic knowledge of working in a microbiological or immunoassay laboratory environment are required.
Basic knowledge of statistical techniques and trend analysis.
Ability to establish and meet quality management schedules and pay attention to detail.
Knowledge of OSHA workplace standards and microbiological laboratory BMBL safety requirements up to the BSL-2 level.
Proficiency in MicroSoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Travel: 5% or less.
Experience performing or managing quality control testing of lateral flow immunoassays and electrochemiluminescence (ECL) singleplex and multiplex assay plates is highly preferred.
Familiarity with the operation of PR2-1800 ECL analyzers and thin layer chromatography (TLC) scanners and associated software.
Familiarity using pipets, balances, monitoring systems, and general laboratory equipment.
Individual should be highly motivated, self-starter, quick learner, team player, and have excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.Verbally communicate effectively with team members, outside auditors, and vendors.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Level clearance and comply with biosecurity requirements.
