HII – MDIS is currently seeking a SOUTHCOM Joint Interagency Training Specialist (JIATS) to work out of HQSOUTHCOM in Miami, FL.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Candidate will use extensive joint and interagency experience to assist the Command in the planning, coordinating an integration of interagency and combat support agency activities with combatant commander requirements; particular focus on supporting those requirements through training integration.
Candidate will also perform requirements mapping between the combatant command and agencies to help determine capability gaps and training opportunities.
Candidate also facilitates development of interagency learning requirements and programs through the Joint Training System; facilitates the preparation, planning, and execution of interagency training plans across the Combatant Commands; coordinate non-DoD agency participation in training and exercises; and also support “real world” mission requirements.
Responsible for coordinating and facilitating the integration of interagency partners into all USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility (AOR) planning functions in accordance with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Manual 3113.01, Theater Engagement Planning (TEP).
Develop strategy and coordinate TEP products at the strategic and operational level.
Analyze and recommend courses of action for directives, plans, scenarios and related actions affecting TEP products.
Plan, write and coordinate TEP objectives and resource requirements affecting TEP using the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) and Planning, Programming, Budgeting System (PPBS) cycles.
Maintain reference files on all engagement activities planned and executed in the AOR.
Use historical data to analyze engagement activities and provide feedback to improve ongoing and planned TEP activities.
Plan, coordinate and execute conferences in support of engagement plan development.
Candidate may travel within the AOR and will be reimbursed in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR).
Qualifications and Experience :
Candidate should have at least one year joint assignment and be a designated JSO or have been assigned to a US government agency that habitually supports the Department of Defense.
Strong and current history of interagency support and interaction, understand the challenges and equities inherent in IA at both the national and operational levels.
Be familiar with military training, Service operations and joint operations.
Direct experience at the Joint Staff and/or a combatant command.
Previous direct assignment to USSOUTHCOM.
All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.
Candidate must have and be able to maintan a DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
