HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

HII - MDIS is currently seeking an Engineering Project Coordinator to work out of their client's Merrifield, VA office.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Able to apply business management principals in problem solving, strategic planning, and operations research

  • Manage program from SOW development, Cost Estimate, Scheduling, Decision Analysis, Funding Approval, Proposal Review, Contract Award, and Deployment

  • Evaluate, estimate cost, and negotiate contract proposals

  • Develop project schedules

  • Perform calculation in statistics, cost analysis, and related accounting

  • Plan, organize, integrate, measure and control each program task in order to fulfill the delivery order requirement(s) in terms of cost, performance, and schedule

  • Analyze compiled data from test and inspections reports to identify problem areas in system design

  • Assist Technology Acquisition Management and other departments in Engineering in conducting equipment evaluations and reviews, and participating in field tests

  • Perform quality control of various equipment for optimum operation and design of the automation equipment

  • Track and deploy production equipment to the Field. Assist in resolving issues

  • Provide technical and procedural guidance

  • Present findings and recommendations to management in writing and/or verbally

  • Obtain installation performance data, prepare reports, and distribute to internal customers

  • Provide tracking of deliverables and action items throughout the life of the program

  • Prepare formal letters, reports, and summaries detailing program management activities

  • Prepare and distribute work product documents to end customers

  • Assist Program Manager in equipment maintenance requirements collection and review, manage development of equipment repair process and associated handbooks/training aids

  • Assist Program Manager in deployment/program scheduling; facilitate requirements collection and review, site preparation analysis, and funding management and, administrative support tasks

  • Write and update technical specifications for automation equipment procurement

  • Must be able to generate program plan, organize, prioritize, prepare cost estimates, and manage system acquisition contracts that are complex

  • Provide proposal evaluation support on all TAPM programs

  • Review, analyze, and respond to submitted unsolicited proposals

  • Provide engineering technical support to the field regarding equipment-related issues

  • Provide program management and documentation support for Automation Equipment-related products and modifications

Qualifications and Experience:

Required –

  • Bachelor’s degree with Bachelor’s Degree or 6+ years of professional experience or a combination of both. The professional experience should be in project management, IT project management, information technology, operations and/or budget/financial management

  • Attention to details, and the desire to see the project through to completion.

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Strong management, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Adept at planning and organization

  • Self-motivated and quick, adaptive learner

  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management

  • Proven experience in risk management and analysis

  • Proven experience in communications planning and execution


  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

  • Must be able to obtain and keep a USPS Sensitive Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder and have been living in the U.S. for at least the last five years

  • Must not have traveled outside of the United States for more than 180 days in the last five years
