HII-Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc.(HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
HII-MDIS is currently seeking Expert Geospatial Intelligence Specialist (GIS) to work out of the customer location in Herndon, VA.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
- The GIS Specialist shall support the customer in the planning, collection, processing, analysis, exploitation, and dissemination of spatial information to solve intelligence questions and visually depict this knowledge.
+< >to use and combine geospatial data in different ways to create interactive/dynamic, customized visual products.
Use a variety of data sources to create geospatial products to support analysis.
Apply knowledge and experience using geospatial analytic methodologies and principles to understand intelligence issues.
Demonstrate understanding of GIS technology, spatial thinking, remote sensing, and intelligence issues to create information, characterize events, and discover relationships and trends
Knowledge and expertise in digital cartography, image processing, GIS software, geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, and commercial imagery, products, processes, and databases.
Ability to work closely with other analysts, government task leads and analysts, and Project Managers
Qualifications and Experience:
Must have a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Bachelor’s degree in geography or related field
Must have ten (10) years of related experience
Experience with geospatial software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Erdas IMAGINE, ENVI, Remote View, (NES), SOCET GXP and/or related GEOINT analysis tools and systems
Proficiency with ArcGIS desktop, geodatabase structure and capabilities, projections and other GIS techniques
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in cartography, GIS, spatial modeling
Knowledge of best practices for data standards, data management, data quality
Master’s degree in the related field
Experience with open source geospatial technology and databases
Experience with the IC and external geospatial data
Experience in the Intelligence Community
All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.
The position requires a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
