Huntington Ingalls Industries Senior Network Engineer in Hahahan, South Carolina
Currently, Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) provides expert solutions in Advanced Technology, Research and Development Services, Cyber Security, Intelligence Analysis and Operations, Healthcare, and Mission Systems to a variety of customers across the Federal Civilian, Intelligence, Department of Defense, and Healthcare sectors.
HII is soliciting senior-level network engineer candidates with a healthcare IT engineering background to work with our team providing worldwide enterprise Health Information Technology engineering support in: system engineering; enterprise infrastructure; network security; network operations; systems integration; infrastructure and network migration services for customers within the military Medical Community of Interest (MEDCOI).
Work with our team providing engineering services to include design, build, test, implementation and migration of infrastructure, platforms, applications and systems. Provide expert systems engineering support for network, server, and virtualization problems. Perform root cause analysis and documentation of technical lessons learned. Research and develop solutions for new or unknown issues as they appear, and create knowledge base articles for common issues. Specific responsibilities include:
• Develop high-quality software design and architecture
• Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the software-development lifecycle
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Review and debug code
• Conduct validation and verification testing
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
• Document development phases and monitor systems
• Ensure software is up to date with latest technologies
Technical training in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field
Eight years of hands-on experience with health IT, including technology analysis and assessment, design definition, development of systems specifications, systems analysis, and systems architecture
Experience with systems/equipment integration, test & evaluation criteria, and logistics support for C4ISR requirements
Three years of experience with SharePoint for health IT projects supporting DoD hospital operations
Experience in software development, scripting, and project management
Experience using system-monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic) and automated testing frameworks
Knowledge of selected programming languages (e.g., Python, C++) and the Java/J2EE platform
In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux, Mac OS, Windows)
CompTIA Security+ or CCNA-Security, or higher certification
Note: Experience may be concurrent
Education: Technical Training in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field
