Huntington Ingalls Industries - Mission Driven Innovative Solution Group (HII MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

HII MDIS is currently seeking a Director of Strategic Pricing to support the business growth of the organization. This position is for an experienced person with Competitive Intelligence and Price To Win (PTW) skills who has the ability to work with various types of technology, product offerings and contract types to determine price and non-price targets the company should bid in order to win a competitive opportunity. Additionally, the Director must be ready to lead a team of Pricing Analysts and guide them to implement the strategic vision for each bid.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):

The Director of Strategic Pricing must be able to present detailed analysis and recommendations to capture team members and senior leadership. Excellent communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to demonstrate knowledge of customer buying patterns, competitor bid tendencies, and assess competitor technical/business strategies and capabilities and the resulting impact on pricing. Tasks may require knowledge and understanding of current technology, engineering disciplines, and analysis of competitor bidding and pricing strategies. Other skills are planning and implementing competitive intelligence and cost modeling.

As the Director of Strategic Pricing you will be personally responsible for:

  • Utilizing tools of the trade to deliver competitive analysis in support of bid specific PTW and capture efforts

  • Profiling competitor management and technical approaches/solutions and assessing relative strengths and weaknesses in the context of a specific bid

  • Preparing materials to support / facilitate Black Hat reviews

  • Leading Black Hat exercises for large, strategic opportunity pursuits

  • Collecting and analyzing data on government customer budgets, spending, and industry benchmarks to support top-down PTW analysis

  • Collecting and analyzing competitor cost/price data to support bottom-up PTW analysis

  • Producing compelling strategies to brief executives and capture teams

  • Providing constructive criticism during pricing and Green Team reviews

In addition to your duties as Director of Strategic Pricing above, you will also be responsible managing a team of pricing analysts. This entails:

  • Managing and directing the efforts of the pricing analyst team

  • Mentoring the pricing analyst team in research & analytical methodologies and sources, critical thinking, developing executive-level presentations, and working with internal customers

  • Balancing resources against workflow and bid priorities

  • Ability to work closely with Contracts, Finance, Project Managers, and various Compliance Teams (proposal compliance and procurement compliance) as well as internal Program Management Teams.

  • Strong experience managing Pricing teams.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of related experience

Preferred –

  • Ability to develop and implement organizational changes as required to meet an ever dynamic changing environment.

  • Experience leading major proposal efforts and managing a Pricing Team for an organization of $500M or more on an annual basis

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook).

  • Conduct effective meetings with personnel and facilitate meetings with subcontractors and program managers.

  • Work closely with internal Proposal Group to develop subcontractor strategies including packaging work and negotiating to support the price to win.

Security:

  • Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance, Top Secret preferred.
