HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
HII - MDIS is currently seeking a Principal Engineer in Aviation Depot Maintenance and Repair to work out of their Corpus Christi office.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Support government engineers with expert advice, analysis, research, and technical guidance.
Develops technical concepts, plans for implementation, monitors technical progress, designs tests, assesses performance data, and develops solutions to technical problems .
Authors, edits, contributes to the production of technical reports and other technical products, such as overall project concepts and descriptions, test plans, and technical reports.
Maintain knowledge of relevant scientific principles, application methods/procedures, and integration of the same into engineering projects using systems, materials, electrical, mechanical or aerospace engineering practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor of Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
Twenty years or more of engineering e xperience in military aviation maintenance, repair or overhaul operations.
Experienced in developing engineering test plans, stress analysis, and fatigue analysis.
Experienced at planning, coordinating and leading engineering projects.
Experienced in evaluating work for adherence to government policies, plans, procedures, and management requirements.
Experienced in component level troubleshooting and development of optimized repair dispositions.
Experienced in the application of analytical skills to support and evaluate engineering dispositions.
Knowledge and experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, depot repair manuals, and technical data for repair development and design.
Experience in working independently; ability to understand, anticipate, and act on the requirements of senior leaders.
Ability to manage diverse workloads of complex and priority projects without supervision.
Proficient in writing detailed technical substantiation analysis, reports, and briefings.
Possess strong listening, written and oral communication skills.
Competence in MS Office and related software/programs.
Bachelor/Masters of Science degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems or Materials engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
Thirty years or more of engineering experience in military aviation maintenance, repair or overhaul operations. \
Depot level maintenance engineering experience in support of Army rotary aircraft.
Active DoD Security Clearance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
