Huntington Ingalls Industries System Administrator in Centreville, Virginia


HII (formally Fulcrum) is seeking an experienced System Administrator to upgrade, monitor, and manage several instances of the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) system along with Tier I and II helpdesk support for the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Program Executive Office (PEO) Test Infrastructure (TI) System Buildout & Sustainment (SBS) team. Additionally, the ability to monitor and track issues in a variety of ticketing systems along with collaborating with the team as it relates to overall maintenance & availability of the legacy AHLTA environments in the TI facilities.


Primary responsibility will be the administration of the MS Windows components of the AHLTA technology stack to include but not limited to:

  • Installing, patching, cloning, and configuring the following across all environments:

  • AHLTA clinical workstation and its associated applications (e.g. Reflections, Medcin, etc.)

  • Local Cache Servers (LCS) including all associated applications (e.g. Oracle, Medcin, etc.)

  • AHTLA Web Print including all associated application (e.g. IIS)

  • Monitoring of all systems with a clear understanding of what and how to monitor AHLTA and its sub-systems using Nagios across multiple environments

  • Creating & Managing AHLTA provider accounts across multiple environments and knowledge of all systems & processes involved (e.g. EMSS, LCS, CHCS) to do so

  • System administration on MS Windows operating systems with the ability to support MS Windows Server 2008, 2012, & 2016 variants



  • Education: N/A

  • Experience: 5 years’ experience System Administration of all MS Windows based AHLTA applications, server and workstation, along with experience managing MS Windows server and workstation operating systems

  • Computers:MS Windows servers and workstation, Oracle, IIS, LDAP, AHLTA clinical workstation, Reflections Desktop

  • Certificates: Security + or SSCP certification required (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

  • US Citizenship:Required

  • Language:Must speak fluent English

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Experience installing, patching, and configuring the AHLTA clinical workstation and all its sub-systems (e.g. Reflections, Medcin)

  • Experience installing, patching, and configuring the AHTLA Local Cache Servers (LCSs) and all its sub-systems (e.g. Oracle, IIS)

  • Experience installing, patching, and configuring MS Windows servers covering Windows 2008, Windows 2012, and Windows 2016 variants

  • Experience with AHLTA account management to include CHCS and EMSS/Snareworks

  • Experience with formal ticketing system (e.g Remedy, Jazz, JIRA, HP Service Manager)

  • Experience with formal documentation system (e.g. Confluence, Privia)

  • Experience providing help desk tier I and II support for AHLTA and its sub-systems

  • Ability to work remotely (have access to internet/phone) with minimal direction and distractions

  • Experience with Remote Operations Management tools such as Slack, HipChat,, Webex, or GotoMeeting.

  • Experience with or Knowledge of working in a virtualized environment with virtual machines and a virtualized desktop infrastructure.

  • Basic Linux administration (e.g. bash, pipes, ssh)
