HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
HII-MDIS is currently seeking a Desktop Publisher to work out of their Centreville office. We are looking for someone who understands the rigors of proposal work, is adaptable in both tasking and methodology to support emerging requirements and is a willing spirit. The successful candidate is proficient in Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint. The Desktop Publisher assists the proposal managers and coordinators in formatting cost and technical proposal volumes for delivery. This person must successfully implement delegated tasks independently, with a high degree of accuracy, while maintaining connection to the larger opportunity.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Candidate will be required to support the proposal development process through interaction with the HII Proposal Development organization, HII Operational entities, and team members.
Assists the proposal manager and coordinator in establishing and maintaining electronic proposal files.
Develops and gains approval on proposal style sheets and templates. Incorporates color palette in consultation with graphic artist.
Formats cost and technical volumes for delivery using Microsoft Word.
Adheres to government requirements for all formatting, including font, font size, margins, and page length.
Inserts and properly aligns graphics, exhibits, tables, charts, or graphs into visually pleasing, easy-to-read document.
Assists the pricing teams with inserting Excel spreadsheet data into cost proposals.
Maintains version control; maintain previous versions, backups, and archives of all documents prior to submission.
Reads and interprets RFP requirements to ensure compliance with all font, page, sizing, and other proposal submission requirements
Assists in final production of proposal (reproduction, binding, packaging).
Attends team standups as requested
Qualifications and Experience:
10 Years relevant experience with Bachelors; 8 Years relevant experience with Masters
Attention to detail and accuracy; strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
Adaptability and flexibility; ability to work under pressure and beyond standard hours during busy periods to meet submission deadlines
Ability to comfortably and professionally interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Ability to interpret and understand RFP requirements
Expert level skill with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
Must be able to work overtime and weekends (infrequently)
- Experience with VPC a plus.
Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
