HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

HII - MDIS is currently seeking a Japanese Translator to work out of their Carlsbad, CA office.

The Japanese Translator will be responsible for translating and updating Hazardous Material (HazMat) and Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear, and High Yield Explosive (CBRNE) lesson plans in order to ensure Japanese First Responders on USMC installations have up to date training lesson plans in support of maintaining/sustaining their skills.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):

  • Translate/Update CRNE/HazMat lesson plans from English to Japanese and Japanese to English.

  • Establish, maintain, and build upon positive working relationship with Regional CBRNE Equipment and Training Team (RCETT) instructor(s).

  • Ability to proofread, edit, and format training curriculum submitted by training cadre ensuring grammar, punctuation, and content adheres to all requirements.

  • Post documents to the RCETT-West SharePoint site.

  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required -

  • Shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in translating HazMat / CBRNE lesson plans.

  • Working knowledge of chemical, biological, and radiological detection equipment

  • Outstanding professional written and communication skills.

  • Ability to work multiple tasks

  • Demonstrated experience in support/working with CBRNE/HazMat instructors in support of CBRNE / HazMat training.

  • Possess proficiency in MS OFFICE skills.

  • Hazmat Awareness certified.

  • Hazmat Operations certified.

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Currently have a Secret Clearance.

Preferred -

  • Hazmat Awareness certified.

  • Hazmat Operations certified.


  • Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance.
