HII - MDIS is currently seeking a Joint Training System Specialist to work out of USINDOPACOM.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
The USPACOM DJ3 T&E, Training and Exercises Division under the Operations Directorate is responsible for the USPACOM JEP. Individual will support the USPACOM J37 (Joint Exercises Division) as a primary Joint Exercise Planner for USINDOPACIFIC Joint Exercises. Applicant may be required to travel throughout the Asia Pacific region. Travel will be reimbursed in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR). Candidate will provide support to J37 both on-site at USPACOM, Camp Smith HI, and various Joint Exercise locations. Candidate will be expected to:
Attend Joint Exercise Life Cycle Events (JELC) and other Joint Exercise Planning Events as a strategic lift planner coordinating the movement of Joint Exercise participants.
Function as a Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES) Specialist in force deployment planning and execution of Joint Exercises within the Joint Exercise Program (JEP).
Have familiarity with the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) as the repository of Joint Training and Exercise data and update as required.
Coordinate with the Primary J37 Joint Training Specialist on the preparation, review, and submission of Significant Military Exercise Briefs (SMEB) to Higher Headquarters
Coordinate with the Exercise Resource Manager on the completion of significant staff actions as required under the Task Management System (TMS).
Provide management, compilation, and analysis of Service Incremental Funding (SIF) provided to USINDOPACOM Service Components. Advocate and assist in expediting SIF distribution to Service Components.
Provide SIF input to the yearly Program Objectives Memorandum (POM) for USINDOPACOM Service Component SIF requirements for the next 5 years.
Prepare the quarterly Joint Exercise Measurements of Effectiveness (MOE) Report highlighting JOPES and SIF Joint Exercise performance.
Prepare the Weekly J37 Joint Personnel Status Report (JPERSTAT) and submit to J3 T&E and J37 personnel.
Review the yearly Program Execution Plan (PEP) specifically for JOPES and SIF data to insure accuracy.
Perform such other duties as directed by J37 and J3 T&E Leadership.
Qualifications and Experience :
The candidate will be familiar with Joint training and exercise planning, execution and assessment process, preferably with Combatant Command or Service Component Headquarters level exercise experience.
Be familiar with the Force Deployment Planning and Execution processes and operations.
Operational background desired.
Familiarity with the Joint Training System, joint operations, Joint Operations Planning and Execution System, Task Management System (TMS), and involvement with staff activities at a Higher Headquarters Level preferred.
At least 5 years at the active duty O4, or above, level preferred.
Experience with USPACOM Joint Exercises is a plus.
Candidate will provide support to DJ3 T&E both on-site at USPACOM, Camp Smith HI, and various Joint Exercise locations.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must be proficient in MS Office applications.
15+ Years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 13+ Years of relevant experience with Masters; An additional 4 years of specific job experience with a HS diploma may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement for this job.
Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI Clearance.
Have familiarity with the Joint Exercise Program.
Involvement with the Joint Exercise Program.
Possess basic knowledge of exercise funding programs.
Participated in Joint Exercise planning and execution.
All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.
Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret / SCI clearance.
